Our first week...

I returned to work this week, not on the unit, but in EPIC computer training because our hospital changed to a different charting system while I was gone.  So, Monday was Marshall's first day in daycare.  Sunday night was really hard for me.  I think it was the combination of realizing that my maternity leave was over and that Marshall was actually going to go to daycare.

However, he did great both days.  Surprisingly, so did I.  Being away made me miss him so much more, but also feel refreshed when I saw him.  He was so tired both days when we got home.  I think they wore him out and he was exhausted.  He could barely open his eyes and slept through the whole night.  I didn't mind that either. :)

I am curious to see how it goes when I start back on the floor.  Since these are 12 hour shifts, I really won't get to see him much in the morning and he will be asleep when I get home.  I guess this is the good part about being a nurse, I only have to work three shifts and the other four days are with my little man.

Overall, a good start.  I will keep you posted.

One more week....

My maternity leave ends in exactly one week from today.  It has been such a wonderful time to get to love and know little Marshall.  He is such a sweet little thing.  We are incredibly blessed by having him join our family!

CU vs CSU

The day of the game started off a little shaky.  Marshall woke up around 4 am for a typical middle of the night bottle.  However, both Medford and I had a hard time going back to sleep, so I decided at about 5:45 am to go downstairs.  I grabbed the empty bottle and looked down the stairs to see Folsom at the bottom.  The next thing I realize is that I am sliding down the entire set of stairs, yelling Med's name as I go.  What a start to the day.  Nothing broken, just a few rug burns on my hand.  Thank goodness, the rest of the day improved.  We had a great time at the game, we took Marshall on the field and then were treated to sitting in the suite with JJ and Nicole.  It was a great way to enjoy a the buffs first win this season!

2001 Big XII Champions Reunion

CU recognized the 2001 Big XII Champions at the CU vs Cal game this past Saturday.  It was great to see all the former players and families.  It was also Marshall's first football game.  He did great for a 3 month old, but Medford and I were exhuasted.  Overall, a great weekend, it's just too bad we weren't able to come home with a win for the Buffs.

California Love

Marshall experienced many firsts over Labor Day weekend....his first flight, first trip to California to meet a ton of aunts, uncles and cousins and his first dip in the Pacific Ocean.  It was a great trip!

Concha Boys

We had a great time getting together with the Concha crew while Kate, Matt and Flynn were in town to visit.  We all have boys!!!  Who knows when the first girl will arrive????

Marshall, Landen, Holden and Flynn.
